Srinagar: Allegedly proceeded on Saturday to implement the instructions on Saturday to implement the instructions on Saturday, despite the opposition from all political parts, on Saturday, a day after the order for the acquisition of schools allegedly run by the Government of Falah-e-Aam Trust (FAT), the academic organization of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI), Falah-e-Trust (FAT), Jammu and Kashmir. A senior official said that the principal of nearby government schools supported by police and revenue employees claimed administrative rights in all 215 JEI-linked schools in Kashmir. On Friday evening, J&K Education Secretary said in his order that 215 schools were identified by “intelligence agencies”, which were “directly or indirectly prosecutedly prosecutedly prosecuted with Jamaat-e-Islami (jail).”Former Chief Minister and PDP chief Mehboba Mufti condemned the decision, saying that Kashmiris voted for the National Conference (NC) to protect their interests in the 2024 assembly elections, but the party instead has targeted schools which granted quality education in Jammu and Kashmir. His daughter Iltija Mufti said that every time Nekan got a cruel majority in Jammu and Kashmir, her first goal has always been Jamaat-e-Islami. “This is 1977 or even today, where they have taken it away by threatening the future of thousands of students, left them in crisis,” he said.Education Minister Sakina Itu defended the decision, saying that the state has not captured schools, but directed the principals of nearby government schools to “take care of them for three months, after which the order would be reviewed. He said that his proposal was replaced by the administrative secretary, who put “Deputy Commissioner” and “Tech Over” in the order rather than “the nearest principal” and “after look”. The order will be corrected, he said.Administrative Secretary Ram Niwas Sharma did not respond to the call for the comment.I also emphasized that a decision was taken to protect the interests of students and teachers. Intelligence agencies had given an adverse report on these schools eight years ago, causing them to be deramented. The latest order, he said, was to ensure that 55,000 students from these schools continue their education and teachers are employed.Rejecting the criticism of political opponents, he said: “Where were all these eight years when the students and teachers of these schools were suffering due to delegation?”Reacting to the minister’s statement, PDP MLA Wahid Parra challenged him to “clearly come and make his original proposal public”. The People’s Conference, APNI Party and Awami Itatehad Party also condemned the government’s move. However, the BJP welcomed the decision to take control of the Jamaat schools. The party’s Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Altaf Thakur called it “very important intervention to ensure that the young minds are preserved by separatist narratives”. It was a “adventure decision”, Thakur said, alleging that these schools were a source of “separatism and terrorism” in Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Government banned JEI under UAPA in February 2019 and declared it an illegal association. Since then, the authorities have taken several action against the group. However, in last year’s assembly elections in J&K, several candidates belonging to JEI contested under the banner of justice and development (JDF), which indicates the group’s return to the group’s electoral politics after a 35 -year election boycott. JDF has now aligned with the People’s Conference of Sajad Loan.
