Saudi Arabia’s crown Rajkumar and Prime Minister, his Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulziz Al Saud on Thursday donated blood to launch the state’s annual National Blood Donation Campaign. The act was described by the top Saudi officials as an expanded gesture and an expansion of the human view of Saudi leadership.The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and help the state become completely self -sufficient in blood and related components. The authorities emphasized the need to ensure the availability of safe and durable blood stocks that meet the needs of the population. According to official data, more than 800,000 people donated blood in Saudi Arabia in 2024.This initiative shows HRH to Crown Prince’s commitment to human work and Saudi leadership support for national healthcare efforts, which aims to reach 100 percent voluntary blood donation. The campaign aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and focuses on building a healthy and vibrant society. A single donation, campaign noted, can help save life by providing blood, plasma or platelets.Appreciating the crown Rajkumar’s gesture, the Health Ministry posted on X: “Leader’s Giving … A role model for the nation. Donation of his His Excellency #Crown_Prince is a human message to install blood donation as a national value, support the voluntary functioning in the health sector, and ensures the provision of safe blood supply to meet the need.”Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel thanked the Crown Prince for his liberal blood donation and his ongoing “unlimited support for human work through the launch of his blood donation campaign”. He said that this symbolizes a strong commitment to give initiative and increase the rate of voluntary blood donation to promote the culture of community solidarity and to support the health sector.Al -Jalajel said that the campaign is an expansion of other human initiatives by Saudi leadership, including Crown Prince and King Salman, who is first to obtain the Kovid -19 vaccine and register in the National Organ Donation Program. “These initiatives reflect a concrete approach to improve healthcare and quality of life,” the minister said, who also asked all the members of the society to donate blood.Authorities described HRH as an important human gesture of Crown Prince that strengthens community awareness, determines an inspirational example, and motivates individuals to embrace the culture of giving and contributing to save lives through voluntary initiatives.
