After winning the FA Cup of Crystal Palace, there was fear that they would struggle to keep their talented squad together.
Az’s departure has felt unavoidable for some time, but, so far, he has done well to maintain the majority of the trophy’s success in the last season.
After the palace victory on Thursday, Chairman Steve Parish said that the club now had to focus on life after AD, and said that signs would be signed.
“We have to pursue it,” he said to Channel 5. “Azay has been fantastic for us and we are happy that he will proceed to fulfill his ambitions.
“We have to find other players to support the team and Oliver Glasar. We will bring the players, this is about finding the right players.”
He is unlikely to be the only star player to leave Aze, in the final year of his deal, the defender is associated with Mark Gahi and with a step for Liverpool.
Parish said: “If Mark wants to sign a contract, he can live!
“This is a difficult situation. If you are in Europe then the financial rules are much more tight than the Premier League.
“Players who leave a free are not ideal. We have to see it in the next 11 days.”
The arrival of the palace aspirations in this season will be important – both home and abroad – and Glasanar has so far expressed his disappointment over the lack of signature, and also realized that his side is in danger of not having the right replacement for the Ez.
He said: “We knew that this is the opportunity [Eze would leave] It is very high that it will happen, and honestly, I say it is so, we missed the opportunity to change it quickly.
“This is completely our fault, and not someone else’s fault.”
Eagles is combined with Rains defender Jeremy Jacquet, while Lesser City playmker Bilal L. Khans is a transfer target and club Bruge’s Christos Tolis has also been postponed.
The transfer window shut down four days later on August 28 with the second phase of its conference league qualifier, it promises to be an interesting – and potentially exciting – a few days ahead.
