Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that the current government was formed through “stolen votes” and urged people to choose a display which “actually takes responsibility, takes responsibility and is accountable to you”.
In a post on X, Gandhi shared a five-minute video while interacting with the youth of Aurangabad in the pole-bound Bihar during his ‘Voter Abhikar Yatra’ and said that people should use their votes power to protect maternal India and constitution.
He said that a clean voter list is the cornerstone of independent and fair elections and asked the people of Bihar not to let their voting rights be removed, as all their other rights rest on this foundation.
Gandhi, who was with RJD leader Tejashvi Yadav, told the youth that their votes were being “stolen” and the names of the living were being declared “dead” and were being killed by electoral rolls.
He also asked him about GST, demonetisation and what they want to change in Bihar, but also about their ideas, in which the group said that it was the government.
He also shared a message in Hindi, as well as with a clip, in which he said, “Dear voters of India, I want to ask you a direct question – can the government formed to steal the votes can ever intend to serve the people? No, right! They do not even need your votes, so they do not even care about your problems.”
He said that the unemployment that breaks the record is ruining the future of the youth, but “the government keeps filling the coffins of the capitalists”, thus proves its indifferent attitude.
“Scams like NEET, SSC, and paper leaks have destroyed the career of millions of students. The government has just closed one eye! Inflation is touching the sky, which has made life unbearable for the common man. Nevertheless, the government increases taxes!
“Hundreds of innocent people have died untimely deaths due to the collapse of train accidents and infrastructure such as roads and bridges. But the government has also certainly not given accountability. From Pahgam to Manipur, there have been incidents of terror and violence – hundreds have died. The government has not taken any responsibility.”
Given that demonetisation, Kovid, and farmers’ movement claimed millions of people, the Congress leader alleged, “The Prime Minister did not offer help, let me show sympathy alone! Why? Why this government was chosen by you; This vote was made by stealing votes.
He said, “You live, die, or suffer – it doesn’t matter to them. They believe that, public votes or not, they will return to power through theft,” he said.
“Choose your government – one who is really yours, takes responsibility for you, and is accountable to you. Mother India and the Constitution of the country with their vote,” he said.
