At his residence in civil lines on Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was accused of attacking Delhi, allegedly told the police that their works had recently objected to the stray dogs of the National Capital Region to objection to the Supreme Court’s order.
Rajesh Sakri Khimjibhai, 41, from Rajkot in Gujarat, was arrested on Wednesday for attacking Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Police had said that he works as an autorickshaw driver in Rajkot, Gujarat, and lives with his wife and two sons.
‘Case of life of three lakh dogs’
The accused told the police that he wanted to tell the Chief Minister that it was a question of the question of the life of three lakh dogs in Delhi, according to sources quoted by the ANI news agency, who also said that the claim was being verified as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials said that they will be taken to every place to Rajesh Sakri Khimjibhai to Delhi. Delhi Police is also in touch with Rajkot Police.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra said on Thursday that Rekha Gupta was attacked as part of the “well -employed conspiracy” in the “planned manner”, saying that the accused is a “professional criminal” with the history of serious crimes.
Delhi Police said that Khimjibhai is a repetition criminal with a criminal record of five cases under IPC Section 326 (serious injury to a dangerous weapon/toxic substance), Section 504 (deliberately causes quarrel or violation of peace or violation of peace), Section 114 (present in time of crime and assistance), ban in liquor. He has been acquitted in four out of five cases. The cases were registered in Gujarat between 2017 and 2023, as stated by HT earlier.
A case of an attempt-to-killing case under sections 109 (1), 132, and 221 of the Indian Joint Code (BNS) has been registered against the accused in connection with the incident of Rekha Gupta.
After the incident, in a post on X, CM Rekha Gupta described the attack not only on it, but also as a “cowardly attempt” on his government’s commitment to serve people. She said that when she was initially shaken, but now she is recovering and will soon resume her duties.
A Delhi police officer said on Wednesday that Sakri usually involved in booting and attack on known and unknown persons after being drunk. “We are investigating his history and asked the Gujarat Police,” he said.
Police said he was “misleading” him at the purpose of his attack.
Another Delhi police officer, who questioned him, said, “He first said that his relative Tihar was in jail and wanted justice for him, but it became fake. His family knew that he was in Delhi to support animal workers. His family also said that he had recently attacked the CM on the Supreme Court’s decision. He said that he is a animal lover.”
