The Home Ministry is likely to review the security system provided to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta after attacking its residence during a ‘public hearing’ on Wednesday.
According to the security guidelines of MHA, CM Gupta has been provided ‘Z’ category security by Delhi Police. The MHA guidelines are outlined in the ‘Yellow Book’, which describes the safety protocol for VIPs and VVIPs.
However, after the incident, Delhi CM’s security cover can now be upgraded to ‘Z’-Plus’ soon, the Indian Express quoted police sources. The security unit of Delhi Police is responsible for providing security to Delhi CM and cabinet ministers.
A person with ‘Z’ category security has been assigned to 22 to 25 personnel, which includes individual security officers, escorts, watches and eight stable armed guards, according to the ‘Yellow Book’. The number of personnel in the ‘Z category’ in a ‘Z Plus’ protease is doubled, as well as the security system for their residence and horseman.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police has registered an attempt to murder against the attacker, Sakri Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai. The 41 -year -old accused was arrested immediately after the attack.
The incident occurred when CM Gupta was interacting with the citizens and listening to their complaints. BJP’s Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva said that during the conversation, a person approached CM, handing him some papers and then suddenly grabbed his hand and tried to pull him. “In the meantime, there was a little jostling and perhaps his head touched a corner. People nabbed him,” Sachdeva said.
Sachdeva, however, denied the claims that the CM was slapped or these “fabricated” were thrown at him. Sachdeva said, “This has caused some shock. I met her, she is a strong woman. Public hearing will continue,” Sachdeva said, CM was resting, but she decided not to cancel her programs.
