Washington National Outfielder James Wood entered the Sunday game against Los Angeles Angels with 22 domestic runs and was looking for more when he was up in the plate.

Six plates were seen in Wood and deliberately gone four times. This was the first time that a batsman had deliberately gone four times in a game since Barry Bonds in 2004.
Others who deliberately running four times in a game since at least 1955 were Roger Maris, Gary Templeton, Manny Ramirez and Andre Dawson, who had found five intentional places in May 1990.
Wood did 1 -for -2 with the theft basis. National defeated angles 7-4 in 11 innings.

Wood has been one of the better players for citizens since entering the league in 2024. According to his 162-game average, he had 31 domestic runs and 105 RBI. 274 batting average and one .863 OPS. Their number has been compared to Juan Soto and Bryas Harper.
“They are to keep some of the best people on a jersey,” he said on Saturday, Via ESPN“I definitely try to be such people. They are doing this-Bryus Harper-I know that I have found a long way to go for seven-plus years and for 12-plus years, but it is definitely good.”
Even more importantly, Wood has to help Washington back into the winning column.
Despite the victory against angels, citizens improved only 35–49. Washington has not won more than 80 games since 2019 – the same year Washington won the world series that year.
