Melbourne -born Oscar Piastry will have its Grandstand in next year’s Australian Grand Prix.
The 24-year-old is leading the championship of the drivers of this season, who are with 10 races with nine points from McLaren Team-Mate Lando Noris.
Piastry has already won more Grands Prix in the same season than any other Australian driver as the World Championship began in 1950, with six in 2025 with six.
“It seems very real and I never thought it would happen, but the support is incredible and I can’t wait to see that it all will come together in the next March,” He said on X., external
The main straight will be directly contrary to the lane of the Grandstand pit.
He said, “McLaren Garage is going to have a wonderful experience by looking at all fans directly in his own Grandstand and I am really eager to feel energy and environment,” he said.
The season-opening race at Albert Park, Melbourne takes place from 6-8 March 2026.
Piastry, which has a total of eight career victories, but has so far joined the growing list of drivers on the grid with dedicated Grandstand in three attempts in Australia.
Noris and seven-time world champion Louis Hamilton have erected each in the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, with Hamilton’s main Start-Finish Strait and Noris located in Stove Corner with ‘Landostands’.
The four -time title winner Max Verustapen has his name named after his name in the European leg of the F1 calendar, including his home Dutch Grand Prix at the Zandwort.
Other Australian drivers are honored with a grandeur at Albert Park, including three-time world champions Jack Brabham, 1980 title-winners Alan Jones, Plus Daniel Riciado and Mark Weber.
