The water level of the Yamuna river in Delhi crossed the danger mark, on Monday, news agency Annie said. It is being opened for this monsoon season for the first time among all eighteen gates of Hathinikund barrage in Haryana.
The officials credited the release of water from Wazirabad and Hathnikund every hour to the rising water level of Yamuna in Delhi.
The Yamuna river in Delhi was expected to reach 206 meters by August 19, crossing the 205.33 meter danger mark, a advisor issued by the Central Water Commission on Sunday.

The water released from the barrage usually takes 48 to 50 hours to reach Delhi.
On Friday, the water level reached 204.65 meters at 1 pm, and on Saturday, it reached 205.11 meters.
