A White House official told Fox News that the action of the Trump administration on violent crime in Washington, DC has already made more than 240 arrests and took 38 guns on the streets.
The force’s show has swept of gang members, robbery suspects and immigration violations. On Friday alone, 52 people were arrested, including 28 illegal migrants, while three guns were seized.
Federal teams also approved 25 homeless infiltration, and officials stated that the expulsion was done without conflict or arrest.

For the policy, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller received the title of operation and said the numbers are “breathtaking”.
“We have removed all kinds of threats for violent criminals, bad people, gang members and public safety for public safety and also removed their illegal weapons, which they are using to terrorize the citizens of this city,” Miller said.
“Additionally, we have seen more than 70 homeless to intimidate and disintegrate the public roads of the city, which have disintegrated and have been thrown away and the homeless are cleaned by those encampments. At the same time, we have a national park service and left untouched for decades.”

Operation began quietly on 7 August with the launch of the “Making DC Safe and Beautiful” task force created by President Donald Trump in March through an executive order.
He temporarily seized the federal control of the metropolitan police department (MPD) under emergency powers in the Home Rule Act and extended it on 11 August, the first step in American history.

The order keeps MPD under the Federal Authority for 30 days, until the Congress extends it, and 800 National Guard soldiers were deployed.
Among all, 22 multi-agency teams were deployed in all seven police districts with over 1,800 personnel as the President aggressively vowed to “withdraw our capital” aggressively.
“We have a capital that is very insecure. … Some are out of control. But we are going to keep it under control very quickly,” Trump said on Monday.

Other arrests included drug distribution, arms violations and excellent warrants. Police detained the suspects accused of law enforcement, careless driving, a dangerous weapon and abduction with kidnapping.
DC National Guard patrolled on foot and vehicles around the National Mall and Union Station last night. When they remain armed, the authorities insisted that they were not arresting, acquiring federal property instead and providing cover for the police.
Trump began floating the idea of making DC law enforcement federal after a brutal beating of a prior efficiency department (DOGE) employee of the government during an alleged attempt at Logan Circle in Washington. After this, he called for the Home Rule Act and went to increase his crack on Monday.

Democrats and local authorities pushed back, the violent crime in the office of MPD and US Attorney is at a 30 -year low, which is 35% below 2023 to 2024.
The FBI data for the same period shows a very low decrease of about 9%, highlighting the adequate difference between local and federal data. The discrepancy arises from differences of how crimes are classified and the federal database is informed.

DC Mayor Muril Boussar described federal action as “uncertain and unprecedented”, while Democrats have introduced a joint proposal in an attempt to brake the federal acquisition of the police.
