Recently, an accused Football Club has launched its own sticker book as part of an attempt to re -connect with fans and the local community.
Aberystwyth Town Football Club finished 33 years at the top level of Welsh football in the last season following allegations from Cymru Premier.
The sticker book “is a way for fans to know the players and improve relationships”, the club director and treasurer Tomos Roberts said.
Fans will be able to buy stickers of coaches and players of the first team, while there is also a special section to convince players of previous sessions.
Following the allegation of last season, the club said it recognized the fans “destruction”, saying that they were making every effort to get promotion in the first attempt.
Mr. Roberts said that the book was a “unique small idea”, and that the practice of collecting stickers used to be “iconic”.
“We want to bring back the tradition,” he said.
He said that the team had changed a lot for the next season in JD Simru South.
Mr. Roberts said that in early May “there was no squad and no coach”, and that “only four local people have been with the squad since last year”.
He has signed 16 new players and made a good start in the season, winning both of his early matches.
“As a lot of new players are, and as we have lost contact with the community – this is a way for sticker book fans to know the players and improve relationships,” he said.
Mr. Roberts said that the club was uncertain how people would respond but described the response as “luxurious”.
He said, “Something like this has not been done by a club for a while.”
He said that he hoped that the situation in the club would improve, the council had allowed the current stadium to develop.
“We have sold around 30 books so far, and they will be available by the end of the month,” he said.
Mr. Roberts said that if it is a success, the club will continue to publish books next year and annually.
