Two aircraft collided on the airspace at Manchester Airport.
The airport spokesman said the Easyzet aircraft held the wings during taxiing at around 06:30 BST. There is no news of injuries.
Passengers have been separated from both aircraft since then which were about to take off for Paris and Gibraltar respectively.
Flights at the airport have resumed after a brief suspension for a security assessment, with a slight damage to the aircraft.
Tinisha Chaudhary, who was on a Gibraltar-bound flight with her partner, compared the collision to a car accident.
“We felt that the entire aircraft shiver – it was a huge hit.”
He said that “a lot of fire engines” and other security staff participated in the scene, as the passengers waited on the ship during the inspection.
He said that the atmosphere among the passengers was “fine”, but some small passengers and their parents were “stress”, before they were allowed to return to the terminal.
A spokesperson from an eagizet said: “Easyzet may confirm that two aircraft wing tips came into contact during the runway at Manchester Airport this morning.
“The aircraft returned to stand to separate customers that have been provided with the refreshment voucher, while the replacement aircraft is arranged to operate flights.
“We apologize to customers for delay in their flights.
“Security of our passengers and crew is our top priority.”
