Officials said the 24-hour ban on the Char Dham Yatra was lifted on Monday, said, “was suspended due to heavy rains and a cloudball that triggered a deadly landslide near Barcot in Uttarakhand.”
Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed development. The ANI news agency said, “The 24 -hour ban on the Char Dham Yatra has been lifted.” He said that along with the travel route, District Magistrates have been asked to stop vehicles based on weather conditions in their areas.
The pilgrimage was stopped on Sunday after the Meteorological Department of India issued heavy rain alert. Soon after a cloudbers, a landslide caused a landslide near Silai Band on Barcot-Yamunotry Road in Uttarkashi district. Officials said two workers died and seven others are still missing.
The repair work on the affected road was completed on Saturday. Uttarkashi District Magistrate Prashant Arya said, “The washouts caused by a cloudburst before the Silai band on the district’s Barcot-Yamunotry Road have been repaired and the road has been made smoothly, while the other washout smooth is underway.”
He also said that the 33 KV power line has been restored, while efforts are on to fix the 11 KV line. NDRF, SDRF, teams from police and revenue departments are still searching for seven missing workers.
Uttarkashi police said that cloudbukes and landslides occurred about four kilometers ahead of the Paligad on the Yamunotry National Highway.
Both the dead have been identified as 43 -year -old Kewal Bisht of Rajpur district in Nepal and 55 -year -old Duje Lal from Pilibit in Uttar Pradesh.

The IMD has issued a red warning for heavy rainfall in several districts of Uttarakhand including Uttarakhand, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Tehri, Puree, Haridwar, and Nanital for June 29 and 30. In light of alert, the authorities suspended the four price journey for a day for a day.
In Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, a cloudburst killed two construction workers and disappeared seven others as the monsoon spread across the country about a week ago. The rain triggers landslides in many mountainous regions, raising the river level, and rains in Delhi and other northern states.
