Fans of dye-hard rod Stewart who were unable to get tickets to play rock legends in Glstonebury, gathered 160 miles (257 km) away to re-create the festival magic at a hotel.
More than 100 members of the Rod Stewart Fan Club, from the entire UK and Europe, at the sketchle Granz Hotel, descended from A5 in Hinkle, to celebrate their music hero.
His three -day Big weekend event ended with eager fans, collecting a large screen as 80 -year -old Stewart, taking him to stage on Sunday.
Organizer Ian Roberts said, “There are a lot of rod fans, but not all of them can be found glastonebury.”
“So we thought we would bring Glestonbury into Hinkle.”
Mr. Roberts said: “We are all fans on a large scale and we are meeting this way every year since 2002.
“But this year is special because the rod is again in Glsto.
“You cannot get glastonebury tickets for love nor money so we have come here to rebuild the vibe.
“I think people here think that it is better than the real thing.
“Rod is a proper rock star. He prefers a drink, loves his football, and he likes a woman.”
Among the fans, Rock Star’s sister Mary Caddy, 96, who is the patron of the Fan Club.
Her brother offered her a ticket to play in Glastonbury, but he opted to join fans gathered in Hinkale.
“It’s amazing,” he told the BBC.
“Whoever thought that he (Stewart) must have gone for so long? I felt that it would be just a flash in the pan.”
Mr. Roberts, from Hankote in Leesterreshare, said: “Mary’s great. She is very helpful – and therefore is a rod. She has donated her stage clothes in the past which is for auction for us for charity.
“We have a tribute band – people are ready. There are some celtic kits, as the rod is a fan, and some are very large wigs.
“Some people have enough for a barnet for real, to pull it, pay attention to you.”
