Gladiators Star and Olympic sprinter Harry Aikins-Aryati are the first celebrity contestants to have been declared for strictly cum dancing 2025 line-up.
Aikes-kartey, known as fans of gladiators from nitro, appeared in the BBC newsmound on Monday, to announce that he would attend the dancing show.
He said, “I am very excited to strictly be a part of the family and I am ready to give all this that I have got.”
From September to December, BBC One and iPlayer strictly cum dancing aerms.
Aikes-Ki was a former team GB sprinter and was the first athlete to win a gold medal in both 100 and 200 meters in the World Youth Championships.
In 2005, at the age of 17, he was won by the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award.
He has competed in two Olympic Games and is a three -time European champion and a two -time Commonwealth Champion.
In 2023, he was unveiled as nitro in gladiators, and participated with Nancy Zoo at last year’s strictly dancing Christmas Special.
Aikes-Ayetey said that Christmas was “so good that I just had to do it twice”.
On Monday, he appeared live at the news-righteous studio as “world-famous choreographer Nikki Trot”, to talk about a scientific study in the benefits of dance every day.
He then revealed his real identity and told the audience how excited he was to join the dance competition.
“I am bringing tons energy to lighten the dance floor,” he said. “Let’s hope I am on the track, as I am raising routine.”
The next three celebrity contestants who are strictly involved in the new series will be declared on the forest show on Monday evening.
The two new professional dancers are also joining the line-up this year, Alexis War, who won the US Dance Series, in U Think You Can Dance 2022, and Australian-born Julian Callon, who has appeared as a professional dancer in three sessions of Australia’s dance with the stars.
The show, which has been aired since 2004, has faced several controversies in the last one year, related to the behavior of some of its professional dancers and celebrity guests.
Professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima left the show after allegations about their behavior towards their dance partners last year.
The BBC strictly announced new welfare measures in July. These include Chapron in all the rehearsal rooms, adding two new welfare producers and providing additional training for professional dancers, production teams and crews.
