A police officer has been killed, responding to a shooting outside the headquarters of the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who is with the Mori University.
The Atlanta Police Department said that the incident on Friday included a “single shooter” which is now dead.

The Mayor of Atlanta city said that no report of any civil injuries has come as a result of shooting.
The US media, citing an anonymous law enforcement officer, reported a theory that the alleged gunman believed that he was ill as a result of the Koronwirus vaccine.
Media reports also suggested that the man’s father had called law enforcement on the day of shooting, assuming that his son was suicide.
CDC director Susan Monarez said the center was “heartbroken” from the attack.
“A courageous local law enforcement officer gave his life, and another was injured, a gunman after setting fire on at least four CDC buildings,” he wrote in a post on X.
“Decalab County Police, CDC Security, and Amori University immediately responded and decisively responded, helping our employees and community to prevent further damage.”
In a press briefing given on Friday, police said they know about an active shooter report on a local time (21:50 BST) at a road intersection in front of the CDC campus.
Police said officials of several agencies including federal and state partners responded.
Amori University at that time posted on social media: “Emori Atlanta Campus Active Shooter at Emoree Point CVS. Run, Hyde, Fight.”
The CDC campus obtained several rounds of bullets in buildings.
Police said they found the shooter “killed by Gunfire” on the second floor of the CVS Pharmacy by the intersection – but on Friday it could not specify whether he was with law enforcement or self -ejaculation.
According to CBS News, a shelter-in-place was lifted about one and a half hours after the shooting.
The police department has since said that “there is no running danger” in the campus or nearby neighborhood.
Media outlets have reported that CDC employees have been asked to work far away on Monday.
