Brian Dryskl, who worked briefly as acting director of the FBI in the early days of another Trump administration, is being pushed out of the bureau, two sources familiar with the case told CBS News.
Driskol Sources said that by Friday, its current role should be vacated in the Washington Field office of the bureau. The same goes to Steve Jensen, who is an assistant director in charge of the Bureau’s Washington Field office.
It was not immediately clear why Driskl, Jensen and Giardina are being abolished. Sources said that at least one other FBI officer has been dropped.
In an email for his team on Thursday, the drisl confirmed that his last day in the FBI would be on Friday and told his colleagues that “my life respect is to serve with each of you,” and said he was not given the reason for his termination.
“I think you can have a lot of questions about why, for which I have no answer in the present. No reason has been given at this time,” Driskall wrote.
Driskol, who has been awarded the FBI Medal of Velor and the FBI Shield of bravery was in the headlines this year, when he was In short To lead the country’s largest federal law enforcement agency. He served a month in that situation, while Kash Patel’s enrollment was under consideration by the Senate to serve as a director.
The Department of Justice refused to comment on firing.
