Colonel Mike Hagar, the Director of Police, Arkansas, said during a news conference that Clinton and Kryston Brink were killed by stabbing wounds, in which the knife was used as a weapon of alleged murder.
Hagar said the attack appeared random, saying that there is no indication that the couple was targeted.
“This seems to be a completely random phenomenon,” said Hagar. “We have no reason to believe that there was a known relationship between our suspect and our victims.”
The blood located at the crime site assisted the authorities to find out who the suspect was. Hagar said DNA was used to connect McGain with alleged killings.

Hagar said McGain was injured during an attack on Clinton and Kristen Brink.
“Although everyone is innocent until he is guilty, we confirmed this morning that the suspect’s DNA is a positive match for DNA recovered at the crime site,” Hagar said.
While the police insisted that the alleged murder appeared as “a fully random incident”, saying that they did not have proof of McGain’s connection to the Brink family, he said that he confessed the killings.
“During an interview with the investigators, the suspect admitted to committing the murders. We also conducted a search warrant at his residence and recovered the objects to suit the crime,” Hagar said.
