Microsoft is allegedly considering implementing a strict task-office policy from January 2025, according to a new new. Report By Business Insider. In particular, this development comes immediately after the closure of 15,000 employees this year.
As part of this strict policy, Microsoft may require its own employees in various offices, such as its headquarters, more often in the office, in Washington. However, according to publishing sources, it has not yet been finalized, but a decision and a declaration can be made in September.
This will be a major change, given that there is a flexible policy of microsoft that allows employees to work from 50% of their time. Under this new policy, employees may be asked to return to the office for a minimum of three days a week.
This step will bring Microsoft to other major technical players, such as meta. Other technical giants have already abolished their completely distance work policies. In 2023, Meta said that employees work from the office at least three times a week and work from two days away, while working as those who can continue working from home. Similarly, in April 2024, Google asked employees to attend the office at least three days a week and it also applies to people who were previously allowed to work permanently from home.
Amazon recently asked the employees to return to the office after giving a 30 -day time limit to decide whether they wanted to move. The same applies to Dell, which asked the employees living within an hour of their offices to work with the office five days a week.
