New Delhi: The Election Commission’s announcement of special intensive amendment of the election role in Bihar has shaken a new political match in the state which is scheduled to go to a high-day assembly elections at the end of the year. The pole body has given the mantra to take out foreign illegal migrants from the voting list of six states starting from Bihar. However, there is a possibility of caste at the time of review of the opposition and said that the final amendments made for Bihar in 2003 extended the elections well, which gave voters in addition to this or to find legal measures for deletion.
Why is the EC reviewing the electoral roll?
According to the pole body, it is part of its crack on illegal migrants from countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The poll panel reminded the constitutional provision that says only Indian citizens can vote. The EC said in a statement, “The Constitution of India is supreme. All citizens, political parties and the Election Commission of India follow the Constitution.”The EC said that special amendments in Bihar have already started successfully to verify the eligibility of each electoral with the “full participation” of all political parties. The pole panel already has about 78,000 booth-level officers (BLOS) and are appointed more than 20,000 for new polling stations.More than one million volunteers will assist real voters, especially old, sick, disabled persons, poor and other weak groups during special intensive amendment.Of the current 7,89,69,844 voters, 4.96 crore voters, whose names are already in the final intensive amendment of the electoral roll on January 1, 2003, “Just verify, fill the calculation form and submit it”.
Why is the opposition not happy with this review?
According to Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Manoj Kumar Jha, special intensive amendment will leave the names of 37 percent of the people from the list of votes in Bihar, who visit their homes during festivals.“37% of people will have to submit their birth certificate under it. Most of these people are those who have migrated. They only visit their homes during festivals. It includes poor, Dalits, back and Muslims. You want to reject them through this process because the ruling party is afraid of its survey … ECI is losing its credibility day by day, “Jha said.Earlier, Trinumool Congress leader Derek O’Brien criticized the EC to operate an SIR, claiming that the pole panel “is trying to bring NRC from the back door,” referring to the controversial national register of citizens, against which several protests were held a few years ago.The TMC MP said, “EC (Election Commission) is trying to bring NRC from the back door. Under the Nazis in 1935, you should have been given an ancestor pass. To show that you are an Indian citizen, there are some evidence of paper to show that is this a new version of that Nazi ancestor? … all India block parties will take it out in Parliament and out. ,AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi also shot a letter to the pole panel that has already undergone a special summary amendment for Bihar, which addresses issues like rapid urbanization, frequent migration, non-reporting of deaths, and inclusion of foreign illegal immigrants in the electoral rolls-to justify-to justify.Recalling the final intensive amendment made for Bihar in 2003, Owissi said it happened well before the 2004 Lok Sabha elections and the 2005 assembly elections, which gave the electoral rice in addition or to take legal treatment for delay. He said in a post on X, “To enroll in voter rolls, every citizen will now have to show the documents not only to prove when and where they were born, but when and where their parents were born,” he said in a post on X.
What do experts say?
According to constitutional expert Faizan Mustafa, the pole panel has the right to complete the exercise and its purpose is perfect.Mustafa told the news agency PTI, “The Election Commission has the right to complete the exercise. Its purpose is right – that every person has the right to vote, he should have its own name in the list, and not every person has the right to vote.”He said, “A good point in this order is that since the base document will be the 2003 election role, which will be the qualifying date on 1 January 2003, which is named in that electoral role, will be considered a citizen of India.”Political analyst Vivek Singh Bagri said that the people of Nepal are coming to Bihar and registering themselves as voters.“Bihar is a border state. Nepal is adjacent to Bihar. So many people are coming here to earn their livelihood, and they are not going back. Bagri told PTI, “It is very easy to register yourself as voters, so each voter should be examined. He said, “This is being done in good faith and it is very difficult to cover all voters in such a short time and it should be done.”The assembly elections are scheduled for the end of the year, where a high-dot fight is expected. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) – Meeting the Janata Dal (United) under the leadership of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Bharatiya Janata Party – will face against Mahagatdanan, including Congress, RJD and leftist parties.
