New Delhi: The Supreme Court overshadowed the Punjab police officers on Monday, who allegedly attacked a serving army Colonel and his son, when they were traveling from Delhi to Patiala, and reminded them that they were protecting boundaries under peaceful circumstances.A bench of Justices Sanjay Kumar and Satish Chandra Sharma rejected the appeal filed against Punjab and Haryana HC and directed a investigation by the CBI in the case. The court said HC’s order was well done and the petition of police officers was rejected.“When the war is going on, you glorify these army officers … Honor is for the army people. You are sleeping peacefully in your house because the man is serving on the border at -40 degrees (Celsius) … We are going to dismiss it with a huge cost. Such anarchy is not acceptable. Look at the CBI … they go and defend you, and they come back wrapped in a national flag, “the bench said.HC ordered a CBI inquiry into the alleged attack of army Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath by Punjab police personnel in Patiala. This allowed the accused police of “preservation” to the accused police of Colonel Bath’s petition. According to the Colonel, who is currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, he was a helpless victim of the extreme cruelty and high prosperity of the Punjab Police.
