Police have said that a four -year -old girl died after an incident in a swimming pool in a holiday attraction.
For the report of a girl in a critical condition, at around 16:20 BST, in Stoke-on-Trent, Waterworld, Hanley was called to the police.
Staffordshire police said that members of the employees and paramedics treated the girl at the scene before being taken to the hospital, where she died some time later. His next family has been informed.
DET C is Ispect Lucy Maskew said: “Now we are inquiring and looking to establish the circumstances of the incident.” He asked the public not to speculation in these initial stages of investigation.
Police said that the next family of the girl is being supported by specially trained officers.
Waterworld said in a statement on social media that the incident took place in the lagoon area of its Aqua Park.
The girl was found unconscious and treated by her lifeguards and management teams on the edge of the pool.
“He immediately provided CPR and called emergency services, which arrived at around 4:20 pm,” the statement said.
All other visitors were asked to quietly leave the pool.
A Waterworld spokesman said, “It is very sad that we learned about the passing of this little girl this evening.”
“All our views are with his family and loved ones during these extremely difficult times.
“Waterworld is working closely with the authorities in this sad time.”
It said that it will remain closed on Tuesday with the honor of the girl’s family.
Booking for Tuesday will be returned automatically, which may take five days.
The company asked that the public avoids contacting the site during the time, and said it would support its team members and police investigation.
