Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday described Mission Karmayogi as a transformative movement instead of only one training program.
Inaugurating the five-day capacity-building initiative here, he urged the authorities to embrace a service-oriented mentality and adopt the true spirit of public service.
“Mission Karmayogi is not just another training program. It is a movement. It is a transformative journey to our government employees to go beyond routine, work with sympathy, serve with humility and solve with creativity.”
The actual change, the way the policy lives, does not start in files or memos. It starts within us. He said how we show and how we treat those who pass through a public office doors.
He said, “We not only create a workforce, but create a culture of service. We are the reason that someone believes that the system can work for them,” he said.
Khandu stressed that this initiative is more than skill development, it is a fundamental change of how government employees think and connect with citizens.
“This initiative is not only about achieving new skills. It’s about transferring the mindset. It is about doing things differently and doing them with purpose,” he said.
Mission Karmayogi is part of the widespread administrative reforms of the state and its objective is to empower government employees at all levels through behavior training, moral engagement and structured structure of civil-centric governance.
The inaugural session witnessed enthusiastic participation from Chief Secretary Manish Kumar and officials in the departments, which reflects a strong commitment for the purpose of changing governance from outside the mission.
Through this platform, civil servants in Arunachal will use adapted training modules based on their current roles and future responsibilities. These modules range from leadership skills and morality to IT literacy, disaster response and financial management.
The Mission Karmayogi program does not target only top level officers. This includes all the personnel involved in the government work, including the District Administrator, Clerk and Field Agents.
The goal is to create a responsive government workforce that is capable of solving real -world problems efficiently and transparently. Officials said the training would be data-operated and performing-oriented, ensuring that each officer develops skills friendly to their unique roles.
More than 10,000 officers are expected to attend the program in their first phase. Each participant will get a personal learning trip that includes micro-curres, case studies and simulation-based learning, he said.
