The 15 -year -old girl, who was allegedly set on fire by three miscreants in Puri, Odisha last month, succumbed due to her injuries during the treatment of AIIMS in New Delhi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Saturday.
The girl was allegedly abducted and on 19 July, the banks of the Bhargavi river in Puri district were unbreakable. The victim, who had faced more than 70 percent of burnt injuries, was admitted to a community health center and later shifted to AIMS-Bhayubaneshwar. She was airlifted to AIMS-Delhi, where she was undergoing treatment.
After his death, the Odisha police said in a statement that “no other person was involved in the incident.”
In an official statement posted on X on Sunday, the police confirmed that the investigation had reached its final stage and all the available evidences do not indicate the participation of a third party.
“We are very sad to hear the news of the death of the victim girl in the Balanga incident. The police has investigated the incident. The investigation has reached its final stage. According to the investigation so far, it is clear that no other person is involved in the incident. Therefore, we request all of us not to make any sensitive comments related to this tragic moments.”

A 15 -year -old girl died on Saturday during treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi after being severely burnt in an accident in Balanga, Odisha.

A student of class 10, allegedly a dip with kerosene was done in Baybar village under the boundary of Balanga Police.
He alleged that three youths kidnapped him on a bicycle, made him unconscious and burnt him on the Bhargavi River on 19 July.
The girl ran away from the place and found shelter in a local house. He was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on the same day, in which the police recorded their statement.

The minor girl died about two weeks after the death of a 20-year-old college student in Balasore district of Odisha after an attempt by an attempt by a professor at Fakir Mohan College.
