According to a famous industry leaker, Rockstar Games may soon introduce an age verification system in GTA online. This step may come beyond the launch of GTA 6 and its purpose is to align with new regulatory requirements.
GTA has been active for years online, which has created a huge loyal player Aadhaar that is engaged in various activities, from playing the role to competing. Despite this, the game is often out of the spotlight compared to other live-servis titles such as Fortnight or Call of Duty. Rockstar Games can add age verification to online GTA
The new insight comes from a reliable source known as Tez2 on X (through PC Games), who revealed that Rockstar Games is planning to add an age check mechanism to the online mode of GTA 5. This step aligns with recent regulatory changes, especially in the UK, where the Online Security Act has recently taken effective. The law requires online platforms to verify the age of users to prevent minors from reaching inappropriate or illegal materials.

Britain was expected to see the first change
According to the Tez2, the rockstar games can regularly apply the verification system, the first area of the UK is expected to be affected. However, the details are not clear how this change will affect the overall gameplay experience. It is likely that some features such as phone messages, text chat and snapmatic may require age confirmation before using photo sharing. There is no clear information about whether the players will need to verify their age to reach the entire game or just some tasks.
