Federal agents arrested a person in California on charges, sent a dozen payments to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), FBI Los Angeles announced on Friday.
28 -year -old Mark Lorenzo Villanueva is accused of trying to provide material assistance to a foreign terrorist organization, a hooliganism crime that gives a 20 -year legal maximum punishment behind bars.
Villainuva lives in Long Beach, according to the US Attorney Office for the Central District of California, is a valid permanent resident of the Philippines.
In -charge of Los Angeles Field Office of FBI, Patrick Grandy said in a statement, “Mr. Villanuva alleged that he has financially supported and promised his allegiance to a terrorist group, which targets our interests worldwide and worldwide.”

He said, “Joint Terrorism Task Force, FBI and our partners today arrested Mr. Vilanueva and thanks to further support and active efforts to stop the spread of ISIS ideology,” he continued.
According to an affidavit, Villanuava used social media to speak with two people, who were themselves recognized as ISIS fighters. During his conversation, Villanuawa discussed his wish to support ISIS and offered to send money to the fighters of the terrorist group to support his activities.
Villanuva allegedly told one of the ISIS fighters who had allegedly wanted to fight for ISIS.

“This is an honor for our faith to fight and die. It is the best way to go to heaven,” he allegedly said at a point.
“Someday soon, I will join,” he also said.
Villanuva told another fighter that he had a bomb and a knife. The FBI recovered what the bomb appeared from the bedroom of Villanuva when he was arrested on Friday morning.
In February, Villanuawa offered to send money to one of the ISIS fighters and asked if the money would “cover your equipment and your weapons.” He also discussed sending money through an intermediary.

According to the Western Union Records, Wilhanuawa allegedly sent 12 payments of $ 1,615 during five months, which used funds abroad.
