A zoo worker in Jerusalem died after an attack by a tiger who survived his enclosure.
The Zoo of Jerusalem Bible states that Uryl Noori died, who suffered from injuries for visitors during the “back-to-back tour”.
The zoo said it was working with the Israeli police how the big cat ran into the courtyard where 36 -year -old was working.
The site is now closed for visitors.
Mr. Noori was taken to the Trauma Unit at Hadasa University Hospital-Ain Kerem for immediate treatment after maintaining widespread injuries on his upper body.
“After a long -time revival attempts, the team was forced to declare him dead,” said Hadasa Medical Center.
“Hospital staff are going with their family in this difficult time and sharing in their grief.”
Located in the south-west Jerusalem, the Bible Zoo states on its website that it shows severely endangered Sumtran Tiger on Tiger’s slope.
According to his Instagram page, Mr. Noori was the head of the Carnivores team, where he posted videos about his work.
In a statement, the zoo said: “This morning a tragic incident occurred, when during a regular activity to prepare the tigers for the prosperous, a tiger managed to escape from the tiger attachment and was attacking one of the zoo staff.
“There was no physical threat to visitors at any point, which was preserved behind a glass window.
“With the help of Israel Police, we are now doing a comprehensive investigation to understand how the tiger managed to escape in the courtyard.”
Israeli newspaper Hretz said that the zoo is investigating whether the cage door has become loose.
The zoo “Pain is immense” by the zoo and “go out for our heart uril’s family”.
Last year, a crocodile was shot after a worker, leaving him with severe wounds that required hospital treatment.
The 62 -acre zoo is home to dozens of animal species. As its name suggests, its special attention is on animals that appear in the Bible, as well as endangered species from all over the world.
