The head of a police force has been suspended from his role, while his conduct is investigated by the Watchdog.
Chris Noble, the chief constable of Staffordshire Police, was informed to the independent office of the Independent Office (IOPC) last year.
County’s police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Ben Adams said that the investigation was on, but since the referral, additional allegations were against “against the main constable who meets the threshold for suspension”.
While suspending the officer, Mr. Adams’s office said the allegations were not related to the work and with the Staffardshire police before the time of Mr. Noble.
Mr. Adams said: “People’s trust is important in the police service, so all the allegations of misconduct should be investigated completely and independently.
“The suspension is a neutral function to enable an independent and intensive investigation.
He said that in suspension “there was no effect on any signal of crime and it should not be seen like this”.
Mr. Adams admitted that many people may feel “jerk” in the county, but the confident people would “continue and well and well examined.”
He said, “I focus on the communities of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Tant, and ensure that Stafordshire Police continue to protect our residents, protect weak people and find out crime and anti-social behavior,” he said.
A temporary chief constable is being demanded by the commissioner’s team.
Mr. Adams said that it was an ongoing investigation by IOPC as he would not comment further.
