Singapore President to meet Indian workers who rescued the woman from Sinkhole
Seven Indian migrant workers who have saved a woman from a car falling into a synchhole in Singapore last Saturday have been invited to meet President Tharaman Shanmugratnaam in the Presidential palace of Istana.
Channel News Asia reported that workers will participate in the Istana Open House on August 3, August 3.
Which workers are invited to honor?
Those who have been invited are, 47-year-old, 47-year-old, and their co-worker Velmurugan Muthusmy, 27, Pumali Saravanan, 28, Ganson Veereskar, 32, Bose Ajitkumar, 26, Narayanasamy Mayakrishnan, 25, and Sathpilai Rajandranan, 56
The incident occurred near a public utility board functions at Tanjong Katong Road South, where a 16-meter-deep shaft was being constructed to connect three sewer lines. According to the National Water Agency, a solid part inside the shaft failed at around 5.50 am on Saturday. A sinkhol became on the nearby road, and a car collapsed.

Workers praised for saving the woman from Sinkhole
Subbiah and her colleagues used a rope to pull the woman out of the car within minutes. His works have been widely praised, including President Tharaman.
The President wrote on Facebook, “Bravo. Thanks to the migrant workers led by Foreman Pichai Udaipan Subbiah. They went quickly and with courage.”
The President’s office said, “There will be opportunities to negotiate between migrant workers and guests including the President during the Istana Open House.”
1,639 donors picked up SGD72K for migrant workers: IRR
So far, 1,639 donors have picked up SGD72,241 for workers, according to a Facebook post, their rain raincoat (IRR), a local donation that supports migrant workers.
“Thanks, Singapore, for your heavy kindness and generosity, for the brave synchronous rescue migrant activists,” IRR wrote. The group said that money would be shared among seven men and sent to their bank accounts.
IRR said, “We will host a meeting with these workers and as soon as we will be able to organize it,” IRR said.
Ace coins awarded for community support
The assurance, care and engagement group of the Ministry of Public Power has also appreciated the men. Each worker received the Ace coin, which is given to migrant workers and volunteers who support the community.
The ministry said, “It is also honored to migrant workers who demonstrate courage, initiative or public enthusiasts in the time of need.”
