Stark, Fla. – A Florida man convicted his wife and two children with a Mache in 1994, which has been set for execution on Thursday, which will be sentenced to the ninth death sentence in 2025 for setting a new state record for the same year. 10th execution is ranked 19th August and 11th on August 11.
A death warrant signed by Republican village Ron Desantis directed that 60 -year -old Edward Zakrzevsky should be executed by a deadly injection at 6 pm on Thursday evening at Florida State Jail near Starc. Zakrzewski’s final appeal for a stand was rejected by the US Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Recently, the highest previous annual total of Florida execution is eight in 2014, as the death penalty was restored in 1976 by the US Supreme Court. Florida has killed more people than any other state this year, while Texas and South Carolina have been ranked second with four each.
Zakrzewski, a veteran of the Air Force, was sentenced to death for the 1994 murder of his 34 -year -old wife, Sylvia and his children Edward, 7, and 5 -year -old Anna, who was at his home in Oklosa County in Panhendal. Trial testimony revealed that he committed murders after demanding his wife’s divorce and told others that he would kill his family rather than that he would allow him.
Sylvia was first attacked with a craub and strangled with a rope, testimony. Both the children were killed with Mache, and Sylvia was also killed with a blade when Zakrazevsky thought she had survived the previous attack.

Opponents of execution zakrzewski’s military service and the fact that a jury voted 7-5 to recommend its execution, barely most panels. They cannot be executed with such partition jury votes under the current state law. The trial judge sentenced three deaths on Zakrzewski.
The action network, which conducted an anti -performance petition, asked people to call the Dentis’ office and read a finished script, urging for Zakrezevsky to stay in execution.
Part in the script reads, “Florida does not require death punishment to stay safe. This execution will not make us safe, it will simply add another task of violence in the tragic story. Justice does not require death,” is written in the part in the script.
Zakrzewski’s lawyers have filed several appeals over the years, all of which have been rejected.
So far this year, twenty -six people have died due to the execution of the court in the US, and 11 others are to be killed in seven states during the remaining 2025.
Florida was also the last state to execute someone, when Michael Bernard Bell died on 15 July due to deadly injection. Desantis also signed a warrant for Kayle Bates for the 10th execution this year, who kidnapped a woman, killed a woman from an insurance office and killed her more than four decades ago.
On Wednesday night, desntis issued a death warrant for 59 -year -old Curtis Windom, convicted of killing three people in the Orlando region in 1992. Their execution is scheduled for August 28.
Florida uses a three-drug cocktail for its deadly injection: a sedative, a paralyzed and a drug that prevents the heart, according to the health department, prevents the heart.
