Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court John Roberts on Saturday warned of dangers of politicians, using warm rhetoric against judges.
“It is wrapped in a political dispute that a judge who is doing his work is part of the problem,” Roberts said at the judicial conference of the chart circuit, in a meeting of judges and lawyers.
“And the danger, of course, can raise a person on it. And we have serious threats to the killing of violence and judges, just just to do their work. Therefore, I think I think political people need to be kept in mind on both sides of the corridor.”
Roberts did not name anyone, but appeared referring to President Donald Trump and Senate Democratic Leader Chak Shumor, when he said he would feel forced to speak against the rhetoric by Democrats and Republican in the past.

Trump has criticized the judges several times over the years, involving the impeachment of a judge who ruled against a exile policy earlier this year, referring to him as a “radical left” and a “lunatic”.
Roberts replied at that time, saying, “For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not a proper response to disagreement related to a judicial decision. The general appellate review process exists for that purpose.”
In 2020, Roberts condemned Shumar, saying that the case of the right to abortion rights during Trump’s first term, the Supreme Court Justice Brett Kawanugh and Neel Gorsach “would pay the price”.

Shumar said at a rally outside the Supreme Court at that time, “You have released a tornado, and you will pay the price.” “You won’t know what you are killed if you move forward with these terrible decisions.”
Shumor later said that he was referring to political prices, which believed that the Senate Republican would pay, but he said, “I should not have used those words, but in any way I was not threatening. I will never do such work, and leader McConal knows this.”

Roberts, at that time, said about Shumar, “Justice knows the criticism, but the statements that threaten such statements from the highest levels of the government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous. All the members of the court will continue to do their work without fear or favor.”
