England’s women’s football team was congratulated by the crowd happy as they returned home on Monday after their Euro 2025 win over Spain.
Hundreds of fans holding flags and banners and dressed in the England kit were waiting outside the Southend Airport as the squad’s plane landed 15:30 immediately after the BST.
The lioness then traveled for a reception by the coach at 10 Downing Street organized by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rener and Sports Minister Stephanie Peacock.
An open -top bus parade will be held in Central London on Tuesday – a procession with the mall and a ceremony in the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace.
England defended their European title with a penalty shootout win 3–1 in the Euro 2025 final in Basel on Sunday.
Cloo Kelly scored the winning spot-kick after two savings from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, as well as help the squad to become the first English team to win a major tournament on foreign soil.
Back home, over 16 million people watched the match live on TV – The most viewed television moment of the year so far.
The lioness arrived at the Southnd Airport on the England badge and an aircraft characterized by the word “home”.

About an hour later, till now England’s officially wearing a fabric line, the players emerged from the terminal and moved to their coaches in front of a crowd of fans.
Williamson again organized the trophy as she followed supporters.
The lioness and their assistant staff arrived at Downing Street shortly before 19:00 for reception.
He posed for another picture on the stages of number 10, which was decorated with the flag of red and white St. George.
Speaking first, Prime Minister Sir Kir Stmper said: “The lioness has once again captured the hearts of the nation.”
King Charles III also paid homage that the lioness had “warmth and praise” of the royal family, which added: “Next task is to bring the World Cup home in 2027 if you can possibly do it.”
It is understood that a reception plan in the autumn at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle is being discovered by the authorities.
When asked about the call to get recognition with the honor of the team, the Prime Minister’s spokesperson stressed that there was an independent process for enrollment.
But he said: “I hope we will see a lot of nominations for this incredible winning team.”
Downing Street also rejected the call for an additional bank holiday after the victory, the spokesperson said: “If we have a bank holiday every time, the lioness wins that we never go to work.”
The call for a bank holiday after the success of a big football is not new, but when the England men’s team won the World Cup in 1966, no one was held, nor was the lioness won the Euro in 2022. Governments have been reluctant to present additional public holidays due to the impact on economic production.
But the Royal Mail has announced a plan to mark England’s victory with a special postmark, which will be applied to the mohar mail in the UK from Monday to Friday.
It reads: “This is home. Again. Champions of Europe 2025. England Women’s Football Squad.”
