The US Secret Service confirmed on Sunday evening that a person was detained after the report that a suspicious package was found near the White House.
“On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at around 2:30 pm, US Secret Service Division Officer immediately assures [sic] A person who climbed a fence towards the south -east of the American Treasury Building, “the federal law enforcement agency told Fox News.
The suspect allegedly dropped a bag on the pavement adjacent to the fence line of the building, which is located adjacent to the White House.
This responded to the Explosive Ordnance Settlement (EOD) team of the Metropolitan Police Department, which approved the item.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation, and will face allegations for illegal admission, as well as a warrant in a separate jurisdiction from Justice.
Twice during his 2024 campaign for the nation’s highest office, President Donald Trump was the subject of attempt to murder.
On July 13, after a single gunman on a roof at Butler Farm Show Grounds in Pennsylvania, he fired eight rounds at the President after a year, while he hosted a campaign rally. Suspected, 59 -year -old Ryan Routh, ran away after running away in that alleged attempt on Trump’s life, was taken into custody only a short time later. He was accused with an attempt to murder along with a violation of a federal officer and several firearms.
He is determined to represent himself in his upcoming testing.
