In a historic educational reform alliance with its vision 2030 goals, Saudi Arabia has announced the integration of artificial intelligence at all public school levels starting with 2025–2026 academic year. The curriculum, jointly created by the National Course Center, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Education and IT and Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is designed to create progressive AI literacy for secondary education by early primary stages, which designed the youth with founder digital skills, moral awareness and innovation.

Pilot Phase: Water Testing
Earlier in 2025, Saudi Arabia laid down “Artificial Intelligence” for third year high school students, attaching more than 50,000 students across the state. The elective has a digital learning platform with interactive multimedia modules, teacher-converted projects and real-world applications in areas such as healthcare, transport and cyber security.
Course design and learning path
AI course spreads all school cycles with age-appropriate progress:
- Primary (Grade 1-3): Interactive stories and sports to introduce basic technology and AI ideas.
- Middle School (Chakra 1-2): Comparison of digital thinking, algorithm awareness, human vs machine decision making.
- High School (Chakra 3): Command engineering, moral AI design, bias evaluation, problem-solution simulation.
- The course integrates the major technical concepts such as data analysis and algorithms -AI integrates morality, policy, innovation and community effects. This teaching ensures continuity through the National Student Performance Evaluation Infrastructure without adding hours.
