Local democracy reporting service
A pit in South London allegedly damaged cars on a regular basis, stating that he spent more than £ 1,000 on repair.
Drivers said the pit damaged its cars near Reidam station in Croidon as they tried to reach their homes or stations at the end of the road.
London and Quadrant Housing (L&Y) were criticized for “pulling” their legs on repairing the responsible association responsible for the road, apparently despite knowing about the issue for months.
The pit was fixed on Friday and David Lewis in the L&Q said: “We are sorry that the residents had problems with the surface of a damaged road and we apologize for the time taken to correct things, and the discomfort caused.”
‘Steering gave’
Pits, which first appeared in April Local democracy reporting service (LDRS), was located on the Watni Close, a bridge-D-SAC that is serving the Reedam station.
The road serves hundreds of flats, all of which passed over a badly damaged pre -damaged pre -damage collision under the road.
During the visit to the area, the residents reported that LDRS damage became a daily problem due to the pit.
Resident Stewart Hastings said: “I never saw this big pit.
“I was once coming home from work and saw a van stop after going on it. I thought he was here to fix it, but he told me that he felt something snap.
“His steering was given, and he could not move the van. He was trapped there.”
Another resident, John Isola said: “I have just returned from the garage in the crown.
“I had to fit new shock absorbs after going to this several times. I paid more than £ 1,000 for them and had to do one day’s work.”
Sameer Davesar, counselor of the Croydon Council for Purley and Woodcote, said he was “submerged” with requests from the residents for the pit and to prevent further vehicle damage.
However, he said that the efforts of LDRS were stated by efforts to resolve the issue that he had called a “mixed message” from the zamindar L&Y.
The orthodox councilor said, “From May, he sent conflicting messages to the residents, our MPs and themselves.”
“The council has been very clear that the responsibility of dealing with this pit is with L& Q.”
Tory Croidon South MP Chris Filp said it had taken L& Q “to fix the hole” and urged them to solve “as soon as possible”.
Mr. Lewis, Executive Director of Property Services at L&Y, said: “The delay is due to complications in confirming who is responsible for the repair of Watni Close, which has been resolved only recently.”
