Officials said a member of a Royal Caribbean crew stabbed a fellow crew member on a cruise ship and then died after jumping an overboard on Thursday night.
This incident occurred from Sanalvador Island to Bahamas, according to Royal Bahamas Police ForcePolice said around 7:30 pm local time, 35 -year -old South African man allegedly stabbed a 28 -year -old South African woman several times.
The man ran away from the scene and jumped into the water. Police said he was later found to be irresponsible and was declared dead by onboard medical staff. Police said that the woman faced a wound in her upper body and was last reported to be in a stable position.
“Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue operation,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement by CBS News, but unfortunately the crew member passed away. ” “We expand their condolences to the family members’ family and loved ones. The Royal Caribbean did not identify the crew members or provide a possible purpose in stabbing. The name of the ship was not provided immediately.
