New Delhi: The government on Friday banned 25 over-the-top (OTT) platforms for hosting ‘indecent material’. According to sources quoted by news agency ANI, it directed the Internet service providers to neutralize public access to these websites. The report stated that action was taken in consultation with women and child rights experts along with MHA, MWCD, Meity, Department of Legal Affairs, Industry FICCI and CII.He said that the move aims to restrict easy access to pornographic materials, especially by minors, and to ensure that digital materials follow legal and moral standards.According to PTI sources, the following apps were identified to violate various laws:
