According to the company, a 9 -year -old child died on Thursday after visiting the water park in Hersepark in Hershe, Pennsylvania.
Officials said that lifeguards attempted life-saving efforts when the child was put in trouble in the boardwalk, the park themed water attraction.
John Lawn, CEO of Harshe Entertainment and Resorts, said in a statement, “Tonight, a nine -year -old guest was tragisticly lost in the boardwalk in Harshipk.”

“From the moment our lifeguard team admitted that a child was in crisis, he rescued an immediate, followed by our lifestyle, on-site first respondents and medical personnel after a continuous, coordinated life-saving efforts,” he continued.
The child was taken to Milton S Hershe Medical Center and was declared dead. The cause of death was not immediately known.
“Our hearts break up for this child and child’s family,” the lawn said. “We expand our deeper condolences to their loss.”

Lawn did not reveal the attraction where the incident occurred. He did not even reveal the child’s identity or any personal details outside the honor of family confidentiality.
The boardwalk has 16 different water attractions, including the “Whitcap racer”, a matte racing water slide and “The noise,” a 378,000-gallon wave pool.
Lawn said the company would do an internal review and cooperate fully with the authorities.

He said that the security of guests has always been the top priority.
Lawn said, “For every family that visit Hershipark, please know this: your safety and welfare drive every decision we do,” Lawn said. “We will fully examine this tragedy and will honor the memory of this young guest by focusing our attention on ensuring the safety of our guests in Hershipark.”
