British number three, Redukanu took the opening set after a fierce 71 minutes, despite renounced a 4–0 lead in the tie-break.
He then took advantage of 3–0 in the second set, but Costux, who had lost five singles matches in a row since May, ralled to break and draw the level at 4-4.
After forcing Costux to serve to stay in the match, Ukrainian blamed Radukanu for handing two match points, which the UK took to its second chance.

Meanwhile, Nori managed only three winners in the first set, two of them on the aces, but one dominated the other to force the judge.

Italian saved two matches points in the final game – a nori double fault – but then sent a backhand beyond Baseline, assigned Britain’s victory after two hours and seven minutes.
Assuming that he was playing “Like a Kid Again”, Nori said: “I just let the expectations fulfill and I am playing tennis to enjoy it now.
“You have got to enjoy it otherwise you can burn this long time.”
