The Max Vastapane Championships of Red Bull is the closest challenger to McLaren Drivers, in third place, 21 points behind Noris.
But Dutchman had a difficult day, only seventh place.
Vastapane was unable to fulfill his final lap as Pierre Galley cut his alpine into the last corner in front of him through 720 degrees, but managed only the sixth fastest time in his first lap.
Dutchman said that Red Bull was surprised by lack of grip in his car
“The merit basically felt everything bad,” said Vastapane. “Every corner was a conflict, I just did not have a balance. It was either intelligent or overseas.
“I didn’t expect it to be bad in merit, but I think no one did it in the team. Therefore, this is something we have to analyze.”
But both Noris and Piestry said that they would not dismiss the vertepen in the race.
“As long as he is not out of the race, I don’t think we are going out of the maximum equation at any time,” Noris said.
