The World Health Organization (WHO) says that Israeli’s grassroots aggressive at Central Gaza has compromised on its efforts to continue working, after the attack after its facilities.
The United Nations agency on Monday accused the Israeli forces of attacking their employees and their families in Dare al-Balah city of attacking the residence of a building and misbehaving with shelters there. Its main warehouse was also attacked and destroyed.
The Israeli army has not yet commented.
It has undergone its first major ground operation in Deer Al-Bala since the beginning of the war with Hamas 21 months ago, which has displaced thousands of Palestinian citizens, amid a warning of a serious hunger crisis throughout the region.
The United Nations said on Monday that it was receiving reports of malnourished people who reached clinics and hospitals in very poor health, while the Hamas-Interested Health Ministry said 19 people had died of malnutrition since Saturday.
On Sunday, the Israeli army ordered an immediate withdrawal of six cities blocks at Southern Deer al-Balah, warning that it would be “working with great power to” destroy the enemy’s abilities and terrorist infrastructure.
The estimated 50,000 to 80,000 people living in the affected areas were directed to move south towards the Al-Mavasi region south of the region.
The United Nations Human Office stated that the United Nations employees would live in Der Al-Bala despite the withdrawal order, spread in dozens of complexes, whose coordination was shared with Israel, and insisted that they were to be preserved.
On Monday night, the WHO made a statement stating that he condemned the “strongest words” attacks on his facilities.
It said that WHO Staff Niwas was attacked three times, and employees and their families, including children, were “exposed to serious threats and were shocked after airstrikes, causing fire and significant damage”.
“The Israeli army entered the premises, forced women and children to empty on foot on the al-Mavasi amid active conflict. Male employees and family members were handcuffed, snatched, interrogated on the spot and investigated at gunpoint.”
“Two WHO staff and two family members were detained. Three were later released, while a staff member stays in custody.”
The WHO demanded the immediate release of the staff member taken into custody and the protection of his other employees, who have been transferred to their office in Dir Al-Bala along with their families.
The organization said that the WHO’s main warehouse in the city was damaged as “the explosion and the fire broke inside”. The warehouse was later looted by a desperate mob, adding it.
The agency did not blame for the attack, but said it was “part of a pattern of systematic destruction of health facilities”.
The WHO warned that its operational appearance in Gaza was now “compromised, crippling efforts to maintain a collapse health system and to carry out existence beyond access to more than two million people”.
No comments have been made from the Israeli army on attacks on attacks in Hu’s premises or on the attacks on widespread aggressive attacks in Deer al-Balah.
But the Haretz newspaper in Israel said on Monday that the soldiers were “setting up a corridor that would be cut through the city, separating it from the Al-Mavasi region and the central Gaza would stop the free movement between refugee camps where there is no ground presence of the Israeli army”.
According to the United Nations, about 87.8% of Gaza is now covered by Israeli withdrawal or within the militaryized areas of Israel, causing a population of 2.1 million to squeeze about 46 sq km km km, where essential services have collapsed.
Sources in Israeli say that the possible presence of Israeli hostages organized by Hamas is one of the reasons why Deer al-Bala is not yet the goal of a ground aggressive. At least 20 of 50 hostages in captivity are still considered alive.
The families of the hostages have expressed concern that an aggressive may danger them.
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza on 7 October 2023 in response to the Hamas -led attack on Southern Israel, killing around 1,200 people and 251 others were taken hostage.
According to the health ministry of the region, at least 59,029 people have been killed in Gaza since then.
