In 2021, the first WTC final was held in a state of biosicure at Southampton, in which New Zealand defeated India.
The 2023 final in Ull, where Australia defeated India, was sold, while this year the first four days were sold in Lord’s, in which South Africa won four days.
England have so far reached the WTC final and ranks fifth in the 2023–25 cycle.
Gold said that the next three finals were being awarded “It was a will for the passion that fans in this country have to travel here for these games for this valuable format of the game and the will of supporters from all over the world”.
He said: “These final hosting is a privilege, and we are ready to work with the ICC to manufacture the success of previous versions.”
The ICC said its board also received an update on the support of Afghanistan women cricketers.
In April, the governing body announced a dedicated taskforce to support the women cricketers displaced from Afghanistan with the help of the Control Board for Cricket in ECB, Cricket Australia and India.
Several major Afghanistan players fled after the Taliban return to power in 2021, in which women participation in the game was effectively declared illegal.
The ICC said: “The program aims to provide structured support through high performance initiative, domestic sports opportunities and engagement in major ICC global programs, including ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India and ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England.”
