New Delhi: The Punjab Police on Thursday night has released an explanation after facing backlash to a controversial post seen on its official X handle. Now the posts shown an AI-borne graphic image of a light-skinned police officer, pinning a dark-skinned person marked with a Pakistani flag with the Indian flag. Chitra strongly stated George Floid’s 2020 police murder in the United States. The caption reads, “If you are caught with this flag, be ready to withstand the results.” The screenshot of the post was shared widely before sharing, in which the users called it stimulating and depth insensitive. In a statement shared on Saturday, the Punjab Police said: “It has come to our attention that a controversial post was briefly visible on the official Punjab Police X handle and has been removed since then. Preliminary findings indicate that the imagination used in the post was AI-Janit. , The police further said that their technical teams are paying attention to whether the post was the result of unauthorized access or potential cyber security violation. The statement said, “We urge the public not to broadcast unacceptable materials and rely on the information shared through our verified official handle.” The Punjab Police also clarified that it does not support or stand in any form. “Your faith and safety is our top priority,” said this.
