A 9 -year -old Canadian girl who was previously a theme of an amber alert after her father said that she was abducted, found dead in New York on Sunday, the New York State Police confirmed.
The girl, Melina Fratolin, was reported to be disappeared by her father, Luciano Fratolin, on 19 July around 9:58 pm near I-87 near 22. Early claims of a possible kidnapping inspired a regional alert and a broad -scale discovery that included several law enforcement agencies.

The authorities later identified “discrepancies in the father’s account of the father’s father and the timeline provided by him and the child was found to be tragically dead in Tisondaroga about 35 miles away.
Parents believe that the daughter, who disappeared from the cruise ship 27 years ago, is still alive.
The state police said in a statement, “At this time, there is no indication that the kidnapped, and there is no threat to the public.”
It is not clear how Fratolin died.
