A 76 -year -old man has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning a 76 -year -old after the children fell ill at a summer camp in Lessesterreshire.
Police said that after taking eight children to the hospital on Sunday as a precaution, an investigation was going on at Canal Lane, Stather. All have been discharged since then.
The officers went to the camp with East Midlands Ambulance service after receiving reports about children who feel unwell.
The arrested person was detained on suspicion of poison administration/was a poisonous thing with the intention of getting injured/aggressive/angry. He remains in custody.
The Lessestershire police said that the investigation is now being done under the leadership of the major event team of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.
“This allows a complete and intensive investigation to be accompanied by resources dedicated,” said a spokesman.
Officials stayed in Stathorn on Thursday, further inquired and assured the affected families.
Police Watchdog has confirmed that it is looking into the force handling to handle the incident.
