Bhopal: Police said four musicians from Gujarat were killed and seven other people were injured on Saturday morning when a passenger bus hit the musicians with a truck on National Highway -27 near Surve in Madhya Pradesh.
A group of 20 musicians – all residents of Mehsana and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat – were returning after performing at the “Shiva Katha” program at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Shivpuri Aman Singh Rathore, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
He was allegedly part of a team with Gujarat religious narrator Lankesh Babu, who returned to Gujarat on Friday.
An official said, “The bus driver crossed the Surve and dropped out of dozens, lost control of the vehicle, flipped on the divider and collided with a truck in the opposite lane,” an officer said.

Singer Hardik Dave (40) died on the spot, while Raja Thakur (28), Ankit Thakur (17), and Rajpal Solanki (60) died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to the injured, who were rushed to a district hospital for treatment, the Shiva Katha incident was organized by a resident of Baroda in Varanasi. The team left for the legend of Gujarat on 8 August and reached Varanasi on the morning of 10 August.
